Dr. Marcelo Cajias is associate director in the research department of PATRIZIA Immobilien AG where he is in charge of the analysis and forecast of the European real estate markets. His main focus is on the usage of advanced econometric models for forecasting European commercial and residential markets. In addition, he monitors the development of the financial markets and macroeconomic aggregates and works in the development of hedonic models and portfolio investment strategies. As a specialist in the topic of sustainability, he is actively involved in the strategic development and improvement of PATRIZIA’s sustainability agenda.
Dr. Cajias studied economics at the University of Regensburg in Germany with his major fields of study being statistics, econometrics and real estate economics. He earned the doctor’s degree for his dissertation about the economic implications of sustainability for listed real estate companies. As a dedicated researcher, his papers have been published in various international journals and he was awarded the RICS best paper award in 2011 and the German real estate research award in 2013. Dr. Cajias joined PATRIZIA in December 2012.
